Now the Manmohanics has a new dose for the Indian bureaucracy. In a determined mood the Union Government has initiated several administrative reforms programmes. In this regard the Department of Personnel & Training has already taken the initiative. The department in its initiative tries to formulate a new mid career training programme for the bureaucrats.
The department sources said Indian bureaucrats will get a mid-career training in some the worlds finest management institutes such as MIT, Harvard and Wharton School. The current training for bureaucrats is in three phases. But the new programme will take them through four and five phases. It also said that the Mussoorie based Lal Bahadur Shastri Academy will commence programme for the three batches of the bureaucrats for those who have completed 10, 15, 20 years in the government. The Academy is in search of curriculum which will combine global management concept along with Indian condition.
The department has already identified 11 institutes who will work with the Academy. The Department of Personnel and Training said renowned institutes like Harvard, MIT, Maxwell Scholl, Duke University, Wharton, and Asian School of Management have already shown their interests. IIM-Bangalore and Gurgaon based Management Development Institute have also shown their desire to join in this programme. But the final decision is expected taken by the Y.K.Alagh who headed a committee in this regard.
