The fee-hike war in IIMs is back again. This time it is the turn of IIM-Bangalore. IIM Bangalore has decided to increase 10 percent of its fee for post graduate programme (PGP) in management. The revised fee-structure will be effective from 2006.
Earlier this year, IIM-Indore, IIM-Kozhikode and IIM-Lucknow increased their fees for PGPM while the IIMs at Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Kolkata decided to maintain their old fee-structures. The Institutes sources said the main reason behind this hike is to bridge the deficit as the programme is subsidised and further seats are being added to the programme. Currently the fee for the post graduate programme is Rs 1.5 lakh per year, after the hike, the changed fee would be Rs1.65 lakh per year
