Many Universities including Distance Cources After LLB.

Filed under:

Its been nine years since I did my LLB. Now I want to enrol for LLM though distance education. Could you please suggest some universities offering such courses? Are these courses recognised?

As a rule, full-time courses are preferable to those offered through distance learning. However, if you are a practicing lawyer who cannot take time out to attend a full-time course, or are opting for LLM because it will help you get promoted to a superior post, or you would like to study further to upgrade your professional knowledge or skills, the latter is a perfectly valid option.

As long as the course (regular or distance) is offered by a UGC-recognised university and approved by the Bar Council of India, it is safe bet. The following are some of the reputed institutions offering LLM through correspondence.

• National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bangalore, www.nls.ac.in

Master of Business Laws (two-year) PG Diplomas (one-year several)

• National Law University, NH-65, Nagaur Road, Mandore, Jodhpur,

• Kurukshetra University, Department of Distance Education, Kurukshetra 132119,

Many Universities including Delhi University also offer part-time LLM courses which can be pursued in the evenings if you are already working.
