For the first time, the New Zealand education fair will be held in April, both in Delhi and Mumbai. The fair will be held on April 1-2; usually the fair is held in September.
Paul Vaughan, New Zealand trade commissioner to India, said: New Zealand as an education destination is witnessing tremendous growth. Student applications in January 2006 saw a 79%. increase and this is primarily due to the high education standards that we offer along-with internationally recognised qualifications and opportunity to enter at any level. Depending upon student response, from next year, the Embassy plans to organise the fair bi-annually (April and September) in other cities too. The fairs will address the needs of students wanting to apply for the July and February intakes, said Vaughan.
Around 21 education institutions will participate including all the universities, government-funded polytechnics, institutes of technology and a number of private technical education providers. These institutions are said to offer courses of study accredited by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority and are signatories to New Zealands mandatory Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International students.
In the Capital, the fan-will be held at the Oberoi Hotel from 11am - 5pm, and it will provide detailed information on diverse range of courses, eligibility requirements, fee structure, living costs and opportunities available.
