The British Open University (BOU) and Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) have agreed to constitute two expert groups to identify critical areas for collaboration.
This was finalized at a meeting of Prof. Brenda Gourley, Vice Chancellor, BOU with Prof. H. P. Dikshit, Vice Chancellor, IGNOU when the former visited IGNOU.
The first meeting of these groups shall be held in the first week of July, 2005. The universities shall concentrate on respective strengths to enhance access beyond their present operations. Particular emphasis shall be on pedagogy, student support and research. For better coordination, each university shall nominate a nodal officer.
Prof. Dikshit informed Prof. Gourley that IGNOU is working in close collaboration with the open universities of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
