Recently 1 came across an ad in one of the national dailies which said that one could do direct graduation i.e. without giving first year and second year in Arts and Commerce.
I would like to know if there is-any such institute in Pune or elsewhere? If there is, then please give me the details.
I’m afraid there is no such thing now as one-sitting BA/BCom anymore to the best of my knowledge. According to the recommendations of the University Grants Commission (UGC),all one-sitting Bachelor’s degree programmes have been discontinued. Hence, such courses (if at all they are still being offered by any advertiser), and the degrees they claim to confer stand invalid.
So don’t even touch those institutions that make these claims with a barge pole.
However one can continue education further by seeking direct enrolment for a Bachelor’s degree at an Open University. Even without the necessary formal qualifications, one can apply for these student-friendly courses at any age and even more conveniently, from home. While some of these open universities admit students on the basis of an entrance test, others like IGNOU require you to take a short preparatory programme (BPP) prior to joining the course. Besides these, several regular universities offer a whole array of degree and diploma level courses through their distance learning programmes.
