The Indian School of Business (ISB) recently signed a MoU with Indu Projects Ltd, a Hyderabad based real estate company, to establish a Research Chair for ‘Real Estate and Urban Studies’. This is the first Research Chair being established by the ISB. Indu Projects Ltd. is making a grant of US$ 550,000 spread over a period of five years. The Chair will function under the Wadhwani Centre for Entrepreneurial Development (WCED)at the lSB.
Speaking on the occasion, M Rammohan Rao, dean, ISB, said: “This Research Chair is of great significance to us, as it is not only the first Research Chair to be instituted at the ISB, it is also the first Chair in Real Estate and Urban Studies in India.”
Indu specialises in offering knowledge based end-to-end solutions in the retail infrastructure development. What distinguishes the company is the primacy it accords to thought, knowledge and innovation.
Syam Prasad Reddy, managing director and CEO of Indu Projects Ltd. felt that the study of real estate was extremely important to the economic development of the state and the nation.
The ISB will bring a top professor of international stature to lead research, organise conferences/ seminars and interface with the academia and the practitioners to debate on key real estate and urban development issues. The research will provide the much needed knowledge in this field and will also serve as a significant resource for realtors and infrastructure providers.
