Friday night saw people from various batches of Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta get together for Nostalgia 2006, an alumni reunion, held in one of the lawns of Pragati Maidan in New Delhi. The event was organised by the current batch of IIM Calcutta students who are doing their summer internship in the NCR.
While the senior alumni caught up with old friends, the current students and the recent alumni took the event as an opportunity to and get the success mantra from the seniors. It was truly a moment of inspiration to interact with the likes of-Noni Chawla, Pradeep Gupta and Rajiv Srivastava.
Noni Chawla, President Omniconsult Management Advisory, has worked in a range of industries and has served on the boards of several companies, Pradeep Gupta, CMD Cybermedia, is a first generation entrepreneur. He is the main promoter as well as Chairman & Managing Director of Cyber Media (India) Ltd. Rajiv Srivastava, CEO , Palas Software, turned an entrepreneur in 1985 after working for about nine years in an MNC.
The event started with the showcasing of a video presenta¬tion “a walk down the memory lane” made by the students of IIM Calcutta to update the alumni of the current happenings back on campus. The evening gradually moved towards a performance by the current members of JBS BaroC (IIM Calcutta student’s musical bands, which have a cult following of the members of IIM Calcutta community).
Among the various activities, there was also a presentation by the Manjunath Shanmugam Trust that has been established by IIM alumni across the world to ensure that justice is done to Manjunath Shanmugam and the values of honesty and integrity that he died for are upheld.
The event was a great opportunity for the current batch of the students to meet industry stalwarts; to learn from them and to bond with them.
