A&M University Pharmacy
THE TEXAS A&M HEALTH SCIENCE CENTER Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy, located on the Texas A&M University-Kingsville campus, was created in response to the shortage of pharmacists in the border region. According to a report completed by the Texas Department of Health Education and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, the Texas-Mexico border region has a population-to-pharmacist ratio of 1,700 to 1, which is 32 percent higher than the statewide ratio.
The mission of the College of Pharmacy is to provide a comprehensive pharmacy education in a stimulating, learning-intensive, student-centered environment to prepare a diverse student body for the practice of pharmacy as competent, caring, ethical professionals dedicated to the provision of optimal pharmaceutical care through a balanced program of education, research, and service.
