Indira Gandhi National Open University Online

Filed under:

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has recently revamped its website to make it more informative and student-friendly. “We are encouraging the use of information and communication technology (ICT) for data transfer and to share information with students,” said S C Garg, acting-vice chancellor, IGNOU.

The varsity’s website has incorporated a system which allows individual students to check the date of their material dispatch. Students can also fill their examination forms and get their detailed results online. IGNOU also displays the telecast schedule of its programmes on Gyan Darshan and DD Bharti, which enables a student to be aware of the relay of the programme of his/ her subject in advance.
Application form, programme details, online assignments and last years’ papers are some of the other facilities available on the IGNOU website. Through another recent initiative eGyankosh, IGNOU has developed a national digital repository of learning resources, which can be shared among open and distance learning institutions in the country. More than 4,000 files comprising self-instructional course materials and video programmes have been uploaded on the repository. The facility is currently open to its study centres and member institutions.
