Dr Anirban Maitra, Associate Professor of Pathology and Oncology at The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, has been selected as the Outstanding Young Scientist for the year 2006 by the Maryland Science Centre. Dr. Maitra is a young scientist dedicated to the war on cancer. In his research, he developed novel technologies and then applied them in creative ways to the study of human pancreatic cancer.
