The Shastri Indo-Canadian Institute recently renewed its MoU with the Government of India. The institute receives funds from the governments of India and Canada. The institute, founded in 1968, is the premier academic bridge between India and Canada. In addition to its traditional focus areas of humanities, social sciences and the arts, the Shastri Institute now covers science and technology, law and management. Apart from providing fellowships, grants and resources for library development, the institute now plans to significantly promote collaborative research and academic programmes among its member institutions.
