Gakhar Family Announces K.L. Gakhar Memorial Trust Scholarship for Gurgaon Students.

The Gakhar Family announced that K.L. Gakhar Memorial Trust will grant two scholarships to college students from Gurgaon, Haryana, India. Late Shri K.L. Gakhar was a resident of Gurgaon who worked in Government P.G. College, Gurgaon and Government Dronacharya College, Gurgaon, Haryana in various capacities including Senior Lecturer and Head of the Chemistry Department, Vice Principal and Principal.

The Gakhar family announced that the trust will offer scholarships to two students from Gurgaon who will be enrolling in the M.Sc Chemistry program at any accredited University or College and have received admission to an M.Sc or Ph.D program in Chemistry.

Each scholarship will grant each student Rs. 10,000 for one year. Each year, two new students will be selected for the K.L. Gakhar Memorial Chemistry Scholarship.

The recipients of the scholarship will be selected by a committee consisting of five individuals including past colleagues of Late Shri K.L. Gakhar and family members. These five individuals will review the applications submitted by the Gurgaon students and select two recipients based on merit and financial need.

The recipients of this RS 10,000 scholarship must have finished their B.Sc from the Government P.G. College, Gurgaon, Haryana or Government Dronacharya College, Gurgaon, Haryana and ready to pursue their postgraduate degree in Chemistry. The recipients must be residents of Gurgaon, Haryana and submit supporting documentation of their educational accomplishments along with a completed scholarship application.

The decision of the K.L. Gakhar Memorial Trust Scholarship Committee is final. Selection criteria includes academic merit and financial need. A student’s desire to pursue a Ph.D. in chemistry will also be considered. Students planning to become teachers of chemistry will be given special consideration.
