Information
The two-day conference of State Ministers of Higher and Technical Education, which got under way here on Monday, is seized of the issues of admissions and fixation of tuition fees in professional colleges. Todays session deliberated on the issue of admissions and tuition fees through self-financing institutions.
The University Grants Commission, which presented a paper, and the All-India Council for Technical Education are going into the matter of admissions and fixation of tuition fees in private self-financing institutions. The deliberations will be made known on Tuesday afternoon.
On Tuesday, the conference will discuss regulation of private universities, entry of foreign universities into the country, and other issues of higher and technical education. Almost all the Ministers of Education and Secretaries of Education of various States are attending the meet.
