The Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers, Australia (APESMA), jointly with La Trobe University, is offering a distance education management programme encompassing an MBA (Technology Management), MBA, Graduate Diploma of Management, Graduate Certificate of Management and Certificate.
These programs are designed to provide working professionals with the opportunity to undertake formal management studies, which take into account their employment, family and, in some cases, geographic circumstances.
The APESMA/La Trobe University MBA programme has over 4,500 enrolments in India. Participants receive extensive learning materials and are not required to attend formal lectures or tutorials. The materials include study guides, reference readings, assignments and sample examinations. Some of the units are provided with audio-visual aids to complement the print material. The programmes are fully portable, can be studied anywhere in the world and are administratively supported by the University. Therefore, participants can enrol without any career interruptions and can continue the programme even if they change their employment or move overseas.
The programmes are internationally accredited by ISO 9002 quality standards and professionally recognised by the apex industry body FICCI. The program has links with universities in the U.K., Canada, Hong Kong, Europe and New Zealand and an international study option is also available, providing a facility for the students to elect to study up to one-quarter of the MBA at an overseas university.
Some of the units offered by APESMA/La Trobe University are International Telecommunications Management, Engineering Risk Management, Strategic Management in Services, Management of Innovation, IT for Managers, Quality Management, International Business Strategy, Asia-Pacific International Marketing, etc
Chifley diploma in business
The Chifley Business School, one of Australias largest business schools based in Melbourne, is offering a Diploma in Business, for working professionals. The business programme is conducted via the distance-learning mode and also has 100 hours of face-to-face sessions with some of the industrys leading experts in the field.
The six-month programme is designed for frontline managers, supervisors, technical professionals and team leaders at the junior and middle management level and has been endorsed by FICCI. Students doing this Diploma will also get articulation into the full-time MBA offered by APESMA and LaTrobe University and hence, candidates can acquire a degree in management at any later stage.
Accredited by the Australian Vocational and Training System, Chifleys Diploma in Business has received national recognition in Australia as well as an alignment with the Australian National Training Authoritys (ANTA) national competency framework.
