Information
The students will be trained such a way that they will be competent enough to work in visual media organisations in the entire world.
The prestigious Sri Siddhartha Engineering College will communicate with the entire world right from Tumkur. This has been made possible with the electronic studio of international standards in Siddharth Centre of Media Studies.
The electronic studio is the brainchild of former education minister and Madhugiri MLA Dr G Parmeshwar, who is also the joint director of the studio.
Not that other educational institutes, mass communication and journalism colleges and post-graduation centres lack a studio. But none of the studios in South India are equipped with facilities that are available in developed nations. Siddharth Centre assures that its studio is one of the best.
The studio is fully air-conditioned with high-standard control room, and equipped to shoot any activity. When such is the condition, students who spend thousands of rupees on higher education and their guardians have no chance to be dissatisfied.
Dr G Parameshwar is confident that this studio will take the students of the institute one step forward in the global rat-race of modernisation.
Apart from learning the basics, the studio is also equipped to teach the students the skills of production and direction; the students will assimilate every detail of technicality. The syllabus has been formulated in such a way that the students of this institute will get an opportunity to work in visual media organisations in the entire world, Dr Parameshwar says. He is also planning to set up an FM radio station in this institute. He is planning to produce quality TV and radio programmes in near future.
Language lab
Language lab is yet another speciality of Siddharth Institute. This lab is fully computerised and has digital technology. The institute claims to be the only one which has such a lab in entire South India.
Dr Parameshwar says that often students find it difficult to write and speak in English fluently. With this Language Lab, students can master not only English, but French and Spanish too.
The lab has been built at a cost of Rs 30 lakh which even the engineering students can make use of. In an era of communication, Siddhartha Institute started courses such as M S Communication and MSc Electronic Media courses in engineering college campus about a year ago.
Apart from constructing attractive buildings for these courses, Dr Parameshwar also wanted to make them modern gifts to the nation. Approximately Rs 1.50 crore has been spent on their construction.
The studio and lab will be inaugurated soon.
