Information
These children with hearing and speech problems will not get help early enough. An Audiology Remediation Lab for such children was inaugurated on Wednesday at Shrishti Special Academy at Channenahalli near the city by Mohan Kumar, vice-president and general manager - mobile devices of Motorola India which gifted the necessary equipment.

The lab will enable early intervention in correcting speech and hearing impairment in children.

According to speech therapists, the best time to start any remedial measures is in early childhood when speech patterns are being formed.

On the same occasion, Soumiyra Sana, Managing Director of Global Software Group-India for Motorola, inaugurated a kitchen and dining hall at the academy, which will help in ensuring hygienic food for the children. The rooms will be used for conducting vocational training classes.

Motorola has contributed $ 2,800 for audiology lab and $ 7,700 for kitchen and dining hall. Shrishti Special Academy, a non-profit society, was established in 1995 by three social educators to reach out to individuals with special needs and the conviction that appropriate intervention can help and improve even the most severely challenged or autistic person. At present, Shrishti reaches out to 106 mentally challenged and autistic persons.
