WINNERS ALL: The team from Raja Rajeshwari High School that won the badminton tournament (Top), and the boys and girls throwball teams of New Public English School with their principal and teachers.
BANGALORE: An inter-school throwball tournament was organised by New Public English School, Vijayanagar, recently. The two-day tournament was open to boys and girls and 32 teams participated. The girls of the host school won against the team from New Horizon English School, Chandra Layout. The boys team from Nalanda English School won the tournament after beating the team from New Public English School, Basaveshwaranagar, in the finals.
The trophy for the best player among girls was given to Shakti Saranya of New Public English School, Vijayanagar, and the trophy for the boys event was won by Gopi of Nalanda English School.
Prizes were distributed to the winners and runners-up of the tournament by the principal of the host school.
Cultural fest
CMR National Public School (formerly NJS) is hosting a cultural and literary fest, DISHA, on August 5. The fest is open to students of classes 9 and 10. For entry details, schools may contact 25440693.
Zonal-level sports
At the zonal-level sports competitions held in the city recently, students of Mahesh Memorial Kendriyashala excelled in all categories. The prize-winners included Nandini V., Pankaj Tiwari and Madhu. The teams from the school also came first in the volleyball and shuttle badminton tournaments.
