DPS, Bokaro lifted the Champions Trophy for the CBSE Intel Science Quiz 2004 held at Amity International School, Saket today. The trophy was awarded to DPS by Mr. G. Balasubramanium, Director (Academics) - CBSE. Carmel School, Kuwait stood second while Bhavan Vidyalaya, Chandigarh secured the third position at the prestigious National Quiz Contest.
The Government of India declared the year 2004 as the year of scientific awareness. It was with this aim that the CBSE Intel Science Quiz was designed, informed Dr. R.P. Sharma, Education Officer- CBSE. The Quiz was held across the entire length and breadth of India. Schools affiliated to CBSE were eligible to participate. Over 4000 teams had participated in the initial written round after which 48 (8 teams from each of the six regions where CBSE schools are present) regional teams were selected. Amity played host to the event and the Quizmaster, Mr. Giri Subramanium, popularly known as Pick brain from Bangalore. Pickbrain has undoubtedly become one of the most prolific quizmasters in India over the last few years.
