Punjab National Bank organised awareness stall of its education loan scheme as part of the annual day function of the Army School, Ratnuchak, here today. Brig B S Dhillon was the chief guest at the function organised under overall guidance of C R Khajuria, Sr Regional Manager.

In his welcome address, Harish Rawat, Principal, Army School, said that the school has providing suitable educational facilities to the students.

At the awareness stall, the main education loan schemes of the PNB Vidya Lakshyapurti and Sarvottam Shiksha were explained to the participants, including students and others. Publicity material of these and other schemes was also displayed and pamphlets distributed among the students and participants.

The Zero Balance scheme (Vidyarthi Savings Scheme) which envisages inculcation of habit of saving among the students was also explained to the students.

The PNB authorities explained that under Vidya Lakshyapurti and Sarvottam Shiksha schemes, the Bank is providing hassle-free loan upto Rs 7.5 lakh for students studying in India and Rs 15 lakh to those studying abroad.

Under these scheme, no margin is required to be contributed by the students nor any security is to be provided for loans upto to Rs four lakh. But for loan over this amount a meagre margin of 5 per cent for studies in India and 15 per cent for studies in abroad and the bank is not charging any up-front and processing charges for these schemes. The bank functionaries explained that the education loan scheme is marked by easy terms and conditions.
