The Maulana Azad National Urdu University on Saturday decided to introduce 14 new courses which include four MA degrees, three PG diplomas in languages and seven diploma and certificate vocational training from the academic year 2006-07. At a press conference, the University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. MA Pathan said that vocational courses in automobile engineering, air conditioning and refrigeration, plumbing would also be made available to the students from the upcoming academic year.
The University has also decided to offer 50 per cent concession in fee to 40 per cent of the in campus students whose number this year stood at 590. The university is also waiving complete fee of 20 per cent students until this year. The University will send a five member team to Pakistan in about six months to study the possibility of establishing cooperation with Urdu medium and other Universities there.
