The committee for overseeing the Entrance Test conducted by Association of Private Professional Colleges has permitted KPPGCA to conduct its CET (KMAT-2006) for all Private Colleges offering MBA and MCA courses in Karnataka.
Dr M Prakash, Secretary of KPPGCA said, As per the resolutions of Justice S Venkataramans Committee, all Private colleges offering MBA and MCA courses will conduct one single test and the entire admissions are to be made through a single window system and centralized counseling as per the admission policy notification issued by the Government of Karnataka.
The Government of Karnataka will hold a PGCET only to fill the seats in Government/University colleges. The committee has come hard on those colleges which have already made admissions through certain All India Tests and such colleges have been instructed to give explaination pertaining to admission. Colleges which have sought permission to make admissions on the basis of All India Examinations have been warned of risks of admission made by them leading to appropriate action by the committee in accordance in the law.
KMAT-2006 is scheduled on 2nd July2006 in various centres and students from all over the country can take the test in any of the following cities: Bangalore, Mangalore, Bagalkot, Bellary, Belgaum, Hubli, Davangere, Mysore, Tumkur, Gulbarga, Shimoga and Bijapur.
