Understanding their importance, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) is all set to introduce three such advanced courses Master of Technology (MTech) in Engineering Physics, MBA in Software Enterprise Management and MSc in Prosthetics and Orthotics, this academic year.
All three would be two-year regular postgraduate programmes. For this year, the admission will be on the basis of merit marks obtained in the qualifying examination while from the next year, the university will conduct a Common Entrance Test (CET) for these courses like other programmes, said O P Goyal, director of colleges, GGSIPU.
Approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the MTech (Engineering Physics) will be offered by the School of Basic and Applied Sciences (SBAS) of the university.
The eligibility for the MTech programme will be BE/BTech or MSc in any branch of physical sciences with mathematics at the undergraduate level. The application forms will be available from June 23,informed A D Lamba, assistant registrar, public relations, GGSIPU. The annual fee for the programme will be Rs 33,000.
The four-semester, MBA in Software Enterprise Management programme will be conducted at the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Nodia, and would admit 60 students.
