Information
The Common Entrance Test (CET) results have been announced and students have a fair idea about where they will get a seat, though the number of seats offered through the CET cell has come down drastically. There are only 4,123 seats for engineering, 383 seats in the four medical colleges and just 51 seats for dental. For these seats, about 88,000 candidates appeared for the CET.
The seat selection process will commence from June 26 for special categories and from July 3 for regular candidates.
The intense competition for the government seats with much lower fees forced the students to queue up in large numbers before the Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMED-K) for its Under Graduate Entrance Test (UGET), the results of which are yet to be announced.
The test conducted by COMED-K attracted over 1.1 lakh online applications for the 3,400 MBBS, 3,200 BDS and 30,000 Engineering seats in 15 medical, 27 dental and 79 engineering colleges coming under the COMED-K.
The Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority Professional Colleges Association (KRLMPCA) has about 700 MBBS, 300 plus BDS and around 4,000 engineering seats in its seven medical, six dental and 12 engineering colleges.
