Information
The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishat (ABVP) has urged the State Government not to implement the new admission policy for the postgraduate courses in universities until preparatory steps are taken.

Addressing presspersons here on Monday, Prabhudev Kappagal, state unit secretary of the ABVP, said the organisation was against any move to implement the new admission policy without holding discussions with teachers, educational experts and student organisations.

Under the new admission policy approved by the Inter-University Board, 50 per cent of the total seats would be offered to the students of various colleges affiliated to the university. Of the remaining seats, 40 per cent would be offered to students of other universities in the State and 10 per cent for students from other States. Efforts are being made to implement the new system from the current academic year, which is bound to lead to lot of confusion, he said.
