SAE India Foundation invites Applications from SAE India student members for scholarships

1. ASEI KALPANA CHAWLA Scholarship: $500/-
As proposed by the donor, this scholarship shall be open to student of all categories( boys and girls), but preference shall be given to the student members with Aerospace background .
2. KALPANA CHAWLA Scholarships (by Trim India Pvt. ltd).
Award amount: Rs.15000/-
As in the past, this scholarship shall be given to the outstanding SAE student member Woman Engineer of the year.
3. Receipt of Applications
The applications for the above two scholarships should be directly sent to the Secretary SAE India Foundation. These will be forwarded to selection committee. All communication should be addressed to the following address.

4.0 Section Scholarships (Applications to be sent to respective sections at their office address).
For section scholarship, the applications to be sent to respective sections at the office address of the concerned section*. The sections shall scrutinize and send short listed applications (double the number of scholarships allocated to the section or actual if it is less than the number specified) to the Secretary SAE India Foundation at the above address. The awards shall be decided by the committee constituted as under.

4.1) ASEI Outstanding student Scholarships: 4 Scholarships of $250/- each.
One scholarship of $250/- each, has been allocated to each section I.e. South, North, West, & East.
4.2) Scholarships out of SAE India Foundation Funds
Southern India 4 scholarships of Rs. 4000/- each = Total Rs.16000/-
Northern India 3 scholarships of Rs.4000/- each = Total Rs.12000/-
Western India 3 scholarships of Rs. 4000/-each = Total Rs.12000/-
Eastern India 1 Scholarship of Rs.4000/- each = Total Rs. 4000/-
G. Total = Rs. 44000/-
5. Eligibility Criteria for Scholarships.
a) Should have two years of continuous SAE Student membership.
b) SAE Student Membership should be valid at the time of application.
6. Guidelines for ASEI Scholarships.
It was decided that the guidelines proposed by the donor should be followed. Accordingly guidelines provided by ASEI shall be followed for ASEI scholarships. The same are enclosed.
7. Constitution of the committee for deciding the Awards.

i.) Kalpana Chawla Scholarships.
Receipt of Applications by SAE India Foundation: End June 2006
Screening & recommendation of awards by the committee: End July 2006
ii) Section Scholarships.
Receipt of applications by respective Sections : End June 2006
Screening of Applications by Sections : Mid July,2006 .
Short listed applications to be forwarded to SAE India Foundation: 21st July,06
Recommendation of Awards by the Committee ; End July,2006
Announcement of all Awards: Mid August 2006.
The President SAE International shall present awards and certificates during his visit to India in the 1st week of Sep.2006.
