The students of educational institutions run by missionaries of St. Francis de Sales (SFS) on Tuesday went on a protest demanding action against people involved in the assault of two school authorities in Hebbagodi police station limits on Monday night.
Vice-Principal Soby Maroor and Administrator of SFS High School Vinod Kanat were attacked by a group of miscreants near SFS Boys Home in Kammasandra. The incident took place when both were travelling by a vehicle towards the Boys Home. The 20-member group waylaid the two and hit them with cricket bats.
Mr. Maroor was admitted to a private healthcare centre, while Mr. Kanat was discharged after receiving first aid.
The students of SFS High School, SFS Pre-University College, and SFS Degree College boycotted their classes. The administrators joined the protest by closing the schools and colleges.
Antony Swamy, Secretary SFS Group of Institutions, said their protest would continue till the culprits were caught.
Meanwhile, the Hebbagodi police have registered case of rioting.
