St. Josephs College, an autonomous institution, has become the first in Karnataka to launch certificate courses, as per the guidelines of the University Grants Commission. Classes for the 23 certificate courses commence on August 19 at its premises and they would be held on weekends and on public holidays.
Some of the courses offered are modern theatre in English; film production; dance styles; peace studies; econometrics; advance diploma in bio-informatics; principles of genetic engineering; life insurance; basics of medical transcription; neuro-linguistic programming; quantitative skills for competitive examinations; management in building construction; management of building maintenance; architecture design; journalism and media studies; legal literacy; fundamentals of bio-informatics; gene cloning; and analytical methods in chemistry.
