Information
Calcutta High Court has declared 28 training colleges for teachers as illegal - sparking protests from students.

At least 4000 students in West Bengal could be affected by the decision, which followed a PIL.

The colleges are not certified by the National Council of Teachers Education - which is a mandatory requirement.

In a couple of months, students at the colleges should have been graduating as teachers with Bachelor of Education or B.Ed degrees.

Shubhodip Sarkar, a B.Ed student of Jadavpur Vidyapith college asked if students from the college have got certificates since 1984 why shouldnt we.

This is an alarm bell for students. Dont go for the unrecognized universities, said Public Interest Litigator Anjan Bhattacharya.
