National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi has organised orientation for teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sanghatan, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samithi and CBSE affiliated independent schools on new textbooks developed by it for I, III, VI, IX and XI standards through teleconferencing between July 6 and August 20.
This teleconferencing will take place in 30 learning centres across the country through Edusat. KV, MEG centre, Bangalore and Regional Education Institute in Mysore are the learning centers in Karnataka.
The programme starts at 9 am and will be over by 5:30 pm. The subjects that will be covered through teleconferencing include environmental science and maths for classes I and III; physics, chemistry, biology, maths, english, hindi, history, geography, economics, accounts and business studies for class XI; sanskrit, science, maths, social studies, english and hindi for classes VI and IX.
A group of 30 teachers in each subject on each day are likely to participate in the teleconferencing programme, Dr N N Prahallada, reader, RIE, said.
