Academic Council of Mangalore Univarsity opposes IUB decision

The Academic Council of Mangalore University at its meeting on Monday unanimously opposed the Inter-University Boards (IUB) decision to change rules in admission to postgraduate courses in universities. The council resolved that the IUB should re-consider its decision.

It also decided to close down Vijayalakshmi First Grade College, Balele, Kodagu, from the academic year 2006-07.

The council gave its consent to the revised draft statute governing the autonomy to colleges, institutions and units coming under the university.
