Shiksha, a special programme to lead 33,052 children in 435 villages across India on the path of education was launched in April this year jointly by Procter and Gamble (P&G) and Child Rights and You (CRY). P&G has recently contributed Rs 1.43 crores to Shiksha, which will be utilised to ensure children’s rights by CRY. Shiksha Ambassador Mandira Bedi and Shantanu Khosla, managing director, P&G India, presented the cheque on behalf of consumers and P&G, to Ingrid Srinath, chief executive, CRY. The funds will be allocated to nine projects across India with a focus on children’s rights to holistic development like taking care of their health and education, among other things.
