Mumbai University, with the support of the All India Tennis Association (AITA) and Sports Authority of India (SAI), is set to start a Bachelor of Science course in sports management, according to a news report. The three-year graduation course, also open for students from the Arts and Commerce streams, will include event management, bio-mechanics, sports medicine plus theoretical and practical knowledge of various sports disciplines in its syllabus. With AITA around, chances are that the faculty might include top tennis stars. The idea of involving AITA and SAI was mooted since the university did not have enough manpower and resources to conduct this specialised course.
