Maharashtra Police pledge to take HIV/AIDS education
Maharashtra Police plans to undertake HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention campaigns to the remote districts of the state through its network with the help of WHARF (Wockhardt Harvard Medical International (HMI) AIDS Research Foundation), an NGO (non-government organization) engaged in training of healthcare workers in HIV/AIDS.
Maharashtra Polices prime concern is the safety of citizens of the state and is happy to collaborate with WHARF for this noble objective, Mr Javed Ahmed, Inspector General of Police said. A pledge to work together was exchanged between Mr Ahmed and WHARF trustee Ms Nafisa Khorakiwala at Mumbai on Saturday on the occasion of an international convention on Worldwide Advances in Comprehensive Management of HIV/AIDS: Implications for India inaugurated by Governor S.M. Krishna in Mumbai.
