Business/Economy : 130 European universities at EU education fair
In a bid to attract Indian students away from American universities, as many as 130 European universities from 21 countries are participating in the first education fair that began here Friday.
India has a vast pool of educated professionals such as researchers, scientists, lawyers, journalists, engineers, yet a very small proportion go to study abroad, out of which almost 43 percent goes to American universities, said Koos Richelle, director general, EuropeAid Cooperation Office, European Commission.
Through this fair we want to promote European Union as the most preferred destination for higher studies with the best quality education in the world and also to interact with the students here and understand their needs, Richelle stressed.
