Admission Notice For Agriculture Programes: January 2007 Session
• Diploma in Value Added Products from Fruits and Vegetables
• Diploma in Dairy Technology
• Diploma in Meat Technology
(Programmes supported by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Govt. of India)
The Diploma Programmes offered by IGNOU are innovative and vocational ones, based on self-learning instructional materiais with multimedia and face-to-face counselling support. These are essentially a judicious mix of theoretical and practical courses to develop technical and entrepreneurial skills in processing of Fruits and Vegetables/Milk and Milk Products/Meat and Meat Products. Eligibility for Admission : 10+2 Pass or BPP from IGNOU. 10th pass can enroll simultaneously for the BPP and the Diploma programme. Duration : One year. Medium of Instruction : English- (The Diploma Programme in Fruits and Vegetables is offered in Hindi also). The Students Handbook and Prospectus can be obtained from the Registrar fSR S E), IGNOU, Maidan Garni, New Delhi-110068 and all IGNOU Regional Centres on payment of Rs.50/- either in cash or by IPO / Demand Draft, drawn in favour of IGNOU, payable at New Delhi or the city of concerned IGNOU Regional Centre. (Plus Rs. 50/- towards postal charges if required by post). The filled form must reach the concerned Regional Director directly or by registered post on or before 31st December, 2006. Applicants for the Diploma Programme in Value Added Products from Fruits and Vegetables have to pay a late fee as the University has extended the date for submission of application to 31.12.06.
However, there shall be no late fee for the candidates sponsored under the Horticulture Mission Project. The students eligible under the ATMA Scheme of the Ministry of Agriculture are entitled for full fee reimbursement as per its guidelines.
Institutions/Universities/Food Processing industrial units intending to offer the Programme Study Centre facility for the programmes and become a partner organization in the initiative may contact/write to the concerned IGNOU Regional Centre or to the Director, School of Agriculture, IGNOU, Maidan Garhi, New Delhi-110068.
