Review names colleges online courses among top in state quality
Steve Cole, chair of the Division of Business, Agriculture and Distance Education at Cossatot Community College of the University of Arkansas (CCCUAA), announced recently that an internal review of online course quality, conducted twice annually at CCCUA, has shown improvement since the spring 2006 semester.
The college offers more than 60 courses online, and several more are Web enhanced, meaning that the classroom instruction is augmented by information students gain online.
Cole said, Every semester, the Division of Distance of Education performs two major quality checks of our online courses. One is the course review and the other is course observation. The course review simply looks at the technical aspects of each online course. That is, not necessarily how the course is being taught, but rather how it is set up to make it easy for students to use.
