Bihar CM hard sells state at IIM-A
Ahmedabad: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar made a strong plea for the states development while promising that Patna would get a national-level management institute on lines of the IIMs.
He was speaking at the IIM here, which was addressed by his political rival Lalu Prasad recently With such complete¬ly contrasting styles, it was hard not to draw parallels be¬tween Lalu Prasad and Nitish Kumar. The CM had a studious air, suited to the academic en¬vironment while Lalu has an air of flamboyance. Kumars visit to IIM-A for its mega event—Confluence 2006—on Sunday, was, therefore, a more subdued affair.
The auditorium was full and Kumar went on to hard¬sell Bihar and criticised the Centre for not helping the state enough. Following a brief presentation on the achieve¬ments of his government in the last one year, he lamented the fact that the Centre had been adopting a step mother¬ly attitude towards Bihar.
