Infy chief says quota is not best way to bring up people

Infosys Chief Mentor N R Narayana Murthy today opposed reservation in educational institutions and employment, while stressing that providing proper attention and training is the best way to bring up people.

Making a general comment on the Sachar Committee report, in response to questions at a press conference here on the sidelines of an international conference, he said India has done reasonably alright in higher education thanks to Jawaharlal Nehrus vision and initiative in starting premier institutions in engineering, technology, science and medicine.
