Ramjas, Anand Parvat holds prize distributionRamjas, Anand Parvat holds prize distribution Ramjas School, Anand Parvat celebrated its annual day and award giving function on December 2. School chair¬man Ram Kanwar Gupta and manager Jitendra Mohan welcomed Vineet Joshi (IAS) secretary CBSE and P Kulshreshtha, director, Centre for Science and Technology of the Non-alligned and other developing coun¬tries. The medley presentation by chil¬dren focused on the physical, mental and spiritual upliftment.The efforts of students and school principal Rajni Arora were appreciated. The artists of Army Public School, Delhi Cantt got laurels at the J&K ustav at IITF at Pragati Maidan. Omkar Sharma was adjudged first in the competition where participants from various reputed public schools repre¬sented their schools. Mann Public School held its three-day annual athletic meet. Rohit Mann and Ritika Rana were declared the best boy and girl athlete respectively. Dayanand house lifted the inter-house athletic trophy.The closing cer¬emony saw a march past display by school band and daring feats of horse riding. R K Sharma, regional director of education (North), Delhi presided over the closing ceremony. The chief guest was presented a memento by officiating principal J Sati and school director J S Mann. Mount Carmel Preschoool, Dwarka celebrated World Science Day! The sim¬ple experiments conducted by the teachers were aimed at developing a sci¬entific temperament and the power of analysis of the children. The students were mesmerised to see the air pressure holding the water in an overturned glass with a small piece of paper, magnets attracting paperclips, floating and sink¬ing objects and many such experiments.

Amity organised the prize distribution ceremony Amity Talent Search Examinations Amity Institute for Competitive Examinations (AICE) organised the prize distribution ceremony for the 54 awardees of Amity Talent Search Examinations (ATSE) at its campus recently. Over 5000 students from 80 schools of Delhi and NCR participated in the event. The winner, Nikhil Goyal student of Amity International School, Noida was awarded a laptop, followed by Jatin Batra of Cambridge School, Srinivas Puri, Syed Daud Ali of Amity International School, Saket and Tanvi Saxena of Amity International School, Noida who were awarded desktop.
Amity International School, Saket hosted the CBSE Heritage India Quiz 05 recently Ashok Ganguly, Chairman, CBSE, Mr. Mani, Education Officer, CBSE and T.P.S. Chauhan, Advisor, Amity School were present on the occasion. Final rounds saw the competition between Bhavans Vidya Mandir, Kochi, Kerala, Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bokaro, Anandlaya, NDDB Campus, Anand, Gujrat and Marias Public School, Guwahati, Assam. Anandlaya won the first prize comprising of a rolling trophy and a cash prize worth Rs. 20,000.

The Vivekananda School, Anand Vihar, organised a motivational seminar and workshop for its students. More than 140 students attended the event. Psychologist and director of Apin Empowerment, Anuj Khare, who was the key speaker at the three-hour long workshop, led the participants through various stages like memory enhancement techniques, self belief and concentration development through weightlessness exercise, motivational talk and so on. The workshop also helped the participants to distinguish between the achievers who are the natural leaders and those who follow them.

Essay Competition With growing concerns of obesity in urban children, the Almond Board of California launched a campaign for students of classes VI, VII, and VIII to create and promote healthy dietary habits and making informed choices. Nobel-prize winner Jack Kilby dies The Nobel Prize-winning inventor of the integrated circuit(IC) Jack Kilby, who laid the foundation for the computer and electronics industries, has died. He was battling with cancer.and was 81. He won the Nobel for physics in 2000 for his invention, which laid the foundation for modern microelectronics. He also invented the first monolithic integrated circuit which brought revolution into the electronics. During the 20 years following his discovery, products made possible by his semiconductor helped the electronics industry grow 20 fold. IPR Awareness The Motion Picture Association (MPA) has announced distribution plans for comic strips based on a 23-minute documentary titled Whats It to Me? Creativity, Copyright and the People Who Care About Them (and Dont)- The announcement was made at a recent anti-piracy seminar at the Law Faculty, Delhi University (DU), which was aimed at showcasing the different points of view that students bring to a discussion about intellectual property rights.
