DAV, Pushpanjali celebrates annual day function
DAV Pushpanjali celebrated its annual day.The guests for the day were Ved Prakash, vice chancellor, National University of Educational Planning and Administration; R P Singhal, vice presi¬dent DAVCMC; K D Jassal, DDE. The dance drama kids wonderland and the item Abhinandan, where students welcomed all the guests in different styles was highly appreciated. Presentation Convent hosted the sev¬enth inter-school eco-club debate on November 16 with regard to year 2006, declared as International Year of Deserts and Desertification.The debate was judged by Romit Sen, Tillotama Daswani and Nupur Awasthy.The guest of honour was Aradhana from Indian Institute of Ecology and Environment. The debate commenced with lighting of the lamp by school principal Sr Rosamma. Modern School Barakhamba won the team trophy. Bhumika Gavery of the host school was adjudged the best speaker.
Khaitan Public School, Noida cele¬brated its annual day on November 25.The chief guest at the function was Alok Sinha, IAS, MD, PWNL Sushma Seth, actress and social activist presided over the function. School principal S L Gupta rendered the wel¬come address. School head boy and girl presented the schools annual report. Gangesh Khaitan, trustee, school management addressed the audience. The guests gave away the prizes for academics and co-curricular excellence. The primary section pre¬sented a musical educate our minds directed by V Kapany, headmistress, written and choreographed by K Singh and music composed by Surinder Singh.The seniors presented a ballet-Dilli- Dhadkan Hindustan ki directed by the principal. The script and lyrics were by D Sharma, com¬posed by Jayati Chakraborty and cho¬reographed by Manju Wazir.Vice prin¬cipal Meena Gupta proposed the vote of thanks.
Cambridge School, Srinivaspuri started the Alok Community Service programme wherein students of all sections of class IX and XI organised a silent walk against child labour on November 15. Officiating principal D Kalsi flagged off the walk. Students walked through the slum clusters car¬rying placards symbolising their concern against child labour. In an effort to rehabilitate slum children, the pro¬gramme provides skills like carpentry computer science, sports activities, an & craft, etc and helps them with then home assignments.
Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Vasanti Vihar held their annual function at Airt Force auditorium, Subroto Park. The lamp was lit by Swami Nikhilananda, chairman, school managing commit¬tee. The welcome speech was given by head boy Shashi Shekhar. Sarthak Sharma, sports captain and Deepika Berry, cultural in-charge presented the annual sports and cultural report respectively. The scholars coat was handed over to Sasank (XI) for being the school topper in class X CBSE. School principal Sudha Rajamohan presented the schools annual report. Manikyavina- the Odissi dance, Veena and instrumental fusion per¬formed under the guidance of music teacher P Banerjee and Lalit Kumar was widely appreciated.The highlight of the show wasDashavtar-a musical ballet, choreographed by Biswajit Chakravorty. Head girl Hema Narang proposed the vote of thanks.
