IU to Offer New Scholarship Program
The average Indiana student graduates from college nearly $19,000 in debt. Indiana University believes some of the most talented, but neediest Hoosier students, do not apply just for that reason. But now, IU is promising debt-free diplomas for many students.
A study by a national organization called the Education Trust recently gave IU the low grade of D for providing college access to minority or low-income students.
I believe that there is a lot of students that dont come here or go anywhere to college and they miss out because they cant pay for it, said IU freshman Courtney Foughty.
