IGNOU fine-tuning plan to get students hooked on radio gyan
The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) will soon be moving out of its cutout space of distance education and curriculum based teaching. In an attempt to make education fun and enjoyable for students, the radio station of the University called, Gyan Vani which will be encouraging students from various colleges and institutes in the city to participate in the radio broadcasting programmes. The students will be asked to speak on current issues and topics which will be recorded by a portable recorder carried by a production assistant of the station. Their views will then be broadcasted through the radio station later.
Station Manager, Gyan Vani, Harish Kakwani says that letters have already been sent to several arts and commerce colleges in the city to publicise Gyan Vani. Kakwani points out, This activity of ours will be in operation by the end of January next year. Letters have already been sent to 20 to 25 colleges in the city. Although, I have yet to follow up the response of these colleges, we plan to involve management institutes like the Indian Institute of Management and the Nirma Institute of Management.
