PM adds caveat to minority tune

PM Manmohan Singh on Wednesday sketched out the political frame for pro-minority measures when he said while Muslims deserved an equal share of development, this should be come without hurting growth and reducing incentives for enterprise and creativity.

Speaking at a Dalit-minority conference, PM made a careful reference to Muslims in the context of the Sachar report. Perhaps keen to avoid the flak that followed his first claim on resources remark at the National Development Council, PM made it evident that special initiatives for the community did not mean skewing priorities.
