India key to US interests, says State Department

The US State Department has said it seeks to strengthen relationship with India because it recognised the latter as a key to strategic US interests.

In its official website, the State Department said that both the countries had common interests.

The US and India have a common interest in the free flow of commerce and resources? fighting terrorism and in creating a strategically stable Asia, the Dawn quoted a new country report posted on the front page of departments website as saying.
