Computers bypass rural school in India
The direction and pace of development in information and communication technology (ICT) have led practically all world economies to recognize the importance of ICT in catalyzing economic activities, in efficient governance and in empowerment of the society. In the education sector ICT can provider a practical and enabling solution for improving the quality of education. The advents of highly responsive networks of information and knowledge and rapid development of new software, hardware and other channels of communication have presented real opportunities to creatively solve deficiencies within the educational system.
School also plays an important role in the process of community empowerment. The school always remained the hub of knowledge. At the village level all the community closely attached to the school. School- teacher occupy the position of most knowledgeable person among the villagers. In the era of knowledge economy and the knowledge society strengthening the education infrastructure at the village level is very important. The ICT has potential to connect the community and establish a regular flow of knowledge.
