Scholarship for Graduate Study At Oxford Centre for Islamic.

The Oxford Centre for Islamic invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for graduate studentships and scholarships, tenable from October 1, 2007.These awards are not intended for those who have already commenced a graduate course at Oxford. The awards include the Saif bin Mohammad Al-Nahyan Scholarship, the Easa Saleh Al-Gurg Scholarship, and the Barclays Scholarship. A full award may cover the costs of maintenance and University and College fees. Alternatively, an award may be given to meet the cost of University and/ or College fees. Awards are tenable initially for a one-year period, with the possibility of an extension for up to two further years.

Requirements: The awards are conditional upon the applicant being accepted to read for a research degree at Oxford University. Preference will be given to those applying to the Faculties of Modern History, Social Studies, Anthropology, Oriental Studies, Theology, or Law.

To apply: Further details and application forms may be obtained from The Academic Secretary, Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies,George Street, Oxford,OX1 2AR,UK Form 2007-2008.doc. Applications should include a resume and a brief statement of proposed research. Two letters of recommendation should be sent directly to the Centre.

Submission: The closing date for receipt of applications is March 16,2007.
