Easterns New Academic Dean Lauds Colleges Can-Do Spirit
From the first morning Timothy Tirrell walked into Eastern WV Community and Technical College last summer as its new Dean for Academic Services, he felt inspired by the staffs commitment to students, and welcomed by its can-do team spirit. And I was impressed by how much the college had achieved in its relatively short existence, he said recently, and even more excited by its future.
With more than twenty-five years experience in higher education, and much of that in the area of educational technology, Tirrell now takes on responsibility for all aspects of Easterns curriculum and instruction, and his professional background makes a perfect fit for the colleges versatile course delivery formats. The emphasis on flexible learning at Eastern really caught my interest, he acknowledged. And its truly a reflection of the colleges learner-centered mission.
