National Knowledge Commission Chairman Sam Pitroda today said the concept of education was changing with the development of technology and India needs to make use of the advanced telecommunication infrastructure for revolutionising the countrys higher education.
India does not even use 10 per cent of the optical fibre infrastructure it has, he said. It can be used to connect 5,000 institutions in the country, he said here at a lecture organised by Indian Merchants Chamber.
Technology is a great instrument of change. And the existing telecommunication infrastructure gives us the confidence, too, Pitroda said.
