Scholarship named for hardworking volunteer
Jordy Koenig, a longtime local Telus employee, is being honoured with a scholarship in his name. Telus is donating $25,000 for a new scholarship to support students enrolled in Okanagan Colleges network and telecommunications engineering technology program.
Koenig, a communications and networking technologist with 25 years of service at Telus, took a personal interest in students in the colleges program in early 2003 and has since contributed countless hours of his time working with students over the past three years.
I am deeply honoured that this scholarship bears my name, said Koenig. The scope of possibilities that this scholarship may foster brings to me a wondrous lesson in humility. I had hoped my efforts with these students would help them along their way and asssis them in their careers. I never dreamt of the outcome.
